AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 2.5 ALARM. SYSTEMS, BY
DELETING SECTION 2.5-4.(6),ENTITLED
"APPLICATION FOR PERMIT", OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA IN ITS ENTIRETY AND CREATING A
NEW SECTION 2.5-4 (6); PROVIDING THAT
EACH AND EVERY OTHER PROVISION OF
CHAPTER 2.5 ALARM SYSTEMS SHALL REMAIN
IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS PREVIOUSLY
ENACTED; PROVIDING FOR A CONFLICTS
CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CON)fISSION
F THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 2.5 Alarm Systems, Section
:.5-4. Application for permit. (6) is hereby deleted in its
~ntirety and a new section 2.5-4(6) is hereby created as
!ollows:
Sec.2.5-4. Application for permit.
(6) The names and telephone
numbers of two (2) persons which
are able to and have agreed as
follows:
To receive notification
of alarm activation at
any time;
To arrive at the alarm
site within one (i) hour
after receiving a request
from a member of the
communications center,
police department or fire
department to do so; and
To grant access to the
alarm site and to
deactivate the alarm
system if such becomes
necessary; or
The name and telephone number of an
alarm system business which is able
and has agreed to provide as
follows:
The names of two (2)
persons listed with that
company who are able to
arrive within one (1)
hour after receiving a
request from a member of
the communications
division, police
department or fire
department to do so, and
to grant access to the
alarm site and to
deactivate the alarm
system if necessary.
When necessary, the
permit holder shall give
the alarm system business
the name and telephone
number of another person
who is able and is
willing to perform the above
described duties so that at
least two (2) persons are
listed with the alarm system
business at all times.
Section 3. That each and every other provision of
lapter 2.5 Alarm Systems not specifically amended herein
hall remain in full force and effect as previously enacted.
Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of
~rdinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
'epealed.
Section 5.
Should any section or provision of this
rdinance or portion hereof, any paragraph, sentence, or
'ord be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
nvalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of
~his ordinance.
Section 6.

Authority is hereby granted to codify

This ordinance shall become effective
