A Special ~Meeting of the Board of commissioners of tha Town of Boynton, Florida,. was held at tt~e Town Hall of ~he Town of Boynton, Florida, Friday Afternoon, September 9th, A. b. 1927, at 8:OO o!clock p. ~. Present: ~. 0. ~yers, Rayor Ha~'ry Senson, Vice-Mayor h. L. Winchester,Town Clerk The above constituting the entire Board of Town Commissioners of the Town of Boynton, Florida. There were aisc present and attendant upon said meeting the following named residents, inhabitants, citizens and taxpayers, to-wit: ' Miller, Paul hudson, ~. S. Atwater, A. a. Austin, Chas. Myers stated the ob.~ct of the meeting to be in accord with the call issue~ therefore, to-wit: For the purpose of ascertaining the will of the people of Boynton through the representative persons invited and in attendance; aha taking action upon the adoption or rejection of plans and specifications ordered I'or the Ooynton Beach Casino; an~ f~'ther taxing definite action thereupon, and progress towarG the construction, OuilGing an~ erection 554 of the Boynton ~each Casino, ~or dropping such project until such time the people of Boynton believe will be expedient, wise and to the best interest of the Town; an~ further to ascertain the will of the people through saia representative group, and to taXe such action as the commission deemed necessary or wi~e toward the maintenance of ~dith Street and Beach Drive, or the abolishing of said roads. The matter of the advisability of building, construct- i~g and erecting the Boynton Beach Casino at a cost of approxi- mately $15,OO0.O0 was first taken up and discussed by the various persons present. Upon a motion regularly made, .seconded and unanimouslY carried, the representative citizens above named did suggest and recommen~ that the ~Town Commission do proceed with the taking of all necessary steps in the construction, erection and building of the Boynton Oeach Casino at an approxi- mate cost of $15,OOO.OO. Thereupon Commissioner Harry Benson made the follow- ing motion, to-wit: That the Town Comntission of the Town of Boynt0n in accord with the suggestions ant recommendations of a group of rep~esentative citizens, residents and inhabitants assembled at this mee'ting do take the necessary steps for and proceed with the building, construction and erection of the Boynton Beach Casino at an approximate cost of $15,OOO.O0. Commissioner E. L. WLnchester seconded said motion and upon being ~ut to a vote said motion was unanimously carried, and was so declared by the kayor. ~fhereupon the matter of the adoption by the Commission of plans and specifications l~or the Ocean Oeach Casino ~as taken up aha thoroughly discussed Oy ~ne repre- 555 ~mentative citizens and inhabitants of Boynton present at said meeting. Thereupon E. L. Winchester, one of the Commission of the Town of Boynton did make the following motion; that in accord with the Suggestions and recommendatioms of a repre- sentative body of citizsns, and inhabitants of Boynton atten- dant upon the meeting that the Town Commission of the Town of Boynton do adopt and use in their entirety in the constructinn, erection and building of the Boynton ~each ~asino the plans and specifications, preparea by Ress. King and OampOell, architects. Commissioner Harry Benson secon~eC sai~ motion ant upon being put to a vote said motion was unanimously carried and so delcared by the M~yor. The matter of the abolishing or maintaining of Beach Drive and of that portion of Edith Street lyin'g East of Cocoa 8treet was taken up and fully discussed by all persons preser~t · · . ..-,-~' ~.~. , . ~'. .~ at the meeting. Thereupon Frank Nutting didmove those assembled, that the citizens and residents present at the meeting, do recommend and suggest to the Town Commission that in consideration of a conveyance to the Town of ~oynton for righty-of-way and road purposes of the following lands and premises, to-wit: 556 Beginning at a spike in the center of new Ocean · Slvm. 50 foot right-of-way which is on the north line of Section 27, Township 45 ~outh, hange 43 Last, and 0168.56 feet each of N.W. corner of ~ said Section; ~hence eastward along north line of said Section a distance of 25 feet to the point of begin~ing of this aescription; thence eastward along north line of said ~eCtion appro- ximately 450 feet to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean; thence southward meanaering along the waters of the ~,tlantic Ocean a distance of 85 feet more or less; thence westward along a line parallel to the north line of Section 27, appro- ximately 450 feet to the east right-of-way liae of ne~ Ocean Blvd.; thence ~north along east right- of-way line a distance of'85.O09 feet to the point of beginning. that the Town Commission of the Town of Boynton do abolish and abandon Edith Street from the point where it intersects Cocoa ~tre~t through to the waters of the ~tlantic Ocean; and further that the To~m Commission do abolish and abandon Beach Drive from the ¥~est intersection thereof with Ocean Blvd. through to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. 0. S. Heaton seconded sai~ motion and upon being put to a vote said motion was unanimously carriea. Thereupon Commissioner E. L- ~inchester aeconded said motion a~d upon being put to a Vote maid motion was unanimously carried and so delcared by the ~ayo~.
