64-CCRESOLUTION 64-CC WHEREAS~ the terms of Section 18%.05~ Florida Statutes 1961~ established a Board of Trustees of the Municipal Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund and further provides for the membership of said Board to consist of the Mayor of the municipality as Chairman~ the Chief of the Police Department of the municipality as Secretary~ and two regularly employed policemen of the municipality to be chosen by the legislative body of the municipality upon recommenda- tion of a majority of the regularly employed Policemen of the municipality and one resident of the municipality to be appointed by the legislative body of the municipality; and WHEREAS~ the regularly employed policemen of the municipali~ have heretofore recommended ~i~na ~-~¥~mo~ and ~~T ~iCI~,~ as the regularly employed policemen to be appointed to said Board~ and WHEREAS~ the City Council deems that GEORGE C. MILES possesses the requisite qualifications to serve upon subject Board as the independent resident member thereof~ and WHEREAS~ under provisions of Section 18%.06~ Florida Statute~ 1961~ the Chairman and Secretary of said B~rd of Trustees are !iempowered to issue drafts and execute certain other necessary i!documents on behalf of the Board in connection with the handling i~f the business of said Fund; and WHEREAS~ J. ALLISON BANKS is presently Mayor of the City of !Boynton Beach~ Florida~ and JAMES A. ERWIN~ JR.~ is presently Chief ~of the Police Department of said municipality; NOW~ THEREFORE~ be it resolved by the City Council of the iCity of Boynton Beach~ Florida: 1. That ~IL~,~ I~~o~ and ~4~~ ~c~,~.5' are hereby appointed as the regularly employed policemen members of the Board !0f Trustees and GEORGE C. MILES is hereby appointed as the resident member of the Board of Trustees of the Municipal Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida~ fpursuant to the provisions of Section 18%.0~ Florida Statutes 1961 2. That J. ALLISON BANKS and JAMES A. ERWIN~ JR.~ as ~hairman and Secretary respectively of the Municipal Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida~ be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to sign and issue checks~ drafts~ withdrawal vouchers or other instruments ry to negotiate funds constituting a part of the Municipal Police Officers Retirement Trust Fund of said City~ now on deposit in the First Bank of Boynton Beach~ Florida~ First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Delray Beach~ Florida~ and First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Lake Worth~ Florida~ or any other authorized depository hereafter designated for the handling of such funds~ and the above members of said Board are further author- ized to perform any and all other business and execute any and all instruments relative said Fund~ in accordance with their duties as particularly established in Chapter 18~ Florida Statutes 1961 3.
