63-WRESOLUTION NO.' 63-W
WHEREAS, the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, has
heretofore administratively combined the Municipal Department of Public
Utilities with the Municipal Department of Public Services and placed autho~
and responsibility for all personnel and previous functions of the Utilities
Department under ZELL TAYLOR (formerly head of the Department of
Public Services), as Superintendent of Public Works and Utilities, pursuant
to the City Charter, and designated THO1VI_AS GRAHAM (formerly head of
the Department of Public Utilities) Plant Supervisor of Public Utilities,
performing duties as outlined in the new job description in the office of
the Personnel Director of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida
deems it essential that the above administrative action be ratified by
appropriate resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
1. Thai the abolition of the position of Supervisor of Public
Utilities and the position of Supervisor of Public Services, and
the creation of the position of Superintendent of Public Works
and Utilities, and the position of Plant Supervisor of Utilities,
are hereby ratified, with the respective authority and respon-
sibilities of said officers so created being as more particularly
des6ribed hereinabove.
2. Thai the appointment of ZELL TAYLOR as Superintendent
of Public Works and Utilities and the appointment of THOMAS
GRAHAM as Plant Supervisor of Utilities are hereby ratified.
3. That the salary for the position of Superintendent of
Public Works and Utilities is established as the identical salary
established for the Supervisor of Public Services in the 1962-~3
pal budget; that the salary for the position of Plant Supervisor of
Utilities is hereby established at $100.00 per week for a 44 hour
work week, effective May l, 1963.
