62-LRESOLUTION NO. 62-L
WHEREAS, a particular problem has for sometime confronted
the municipal tax assessor with relation to assessing real property subject
to municipal taxes whereon active construction is in progress on January
1 in any one taxable year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it essential that a workable
policy be established to enable the municipal tax assessor to fairly and
equitably assess such property;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida:
That the following policy shall forthwith be effective with relation
to assessment of real property within the municipal limits of the City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, whereon active construction is in progress on Janu~
1 of any taxable year:
All taxable lands subject to municipal taxation upon which
active construction of improvements is in progress and
upon which such improvements are not substantially
completed on January 1 of any year, shall be assessed
for such year as unimproved lands. Provided, however,
the provisions hereof shall not apply in cases of altera-
tion or improvement of existing structures.
