A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
ACCEPT AND EXECUTE THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAY SAFETY PLAN
GRANT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $84,855, PROVIDING FOR
A DUE ENFORCEMENT SPECIALIST POSITION, ONE
NEW POLICE VEHICLE AND RELATED COSTS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Police Department applied for and
has been awarded a grant from the Department of Transportation Highway Safety
Plan in the amount of $84,855, which will provide for 100 percent of the personnel
services for the position of Boynton Beach DUI Enforcement Specialist, as well as
;apitol outlay to reimburse the cost of an equipped patrol vehicle and radio, training
and related costs; and
WHEREAS, this is a one (1) year grant and can be renewed at 75% funding
Ior the next year, if funds are available;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
i'HE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby
authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Clerk to accept and execute the grant in
lhe amount of $84,855 from the Florida Department of Transportation Highway
Safety Plan, A copy of the agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit '%."
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
