08-15-60BRESOLUTION
TO THE HONORABLE COUNTY COMMISSION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, all residemts, taxpayers and registered voters & the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, and the immediate surrounding area, are
vitally interested in the continuing improvement of the network of
highways and roads serving said area; and
WHEREAS such interest is based upon the necessity of attracting
large numbers of tourists and other forms of traffic to subject area to
maintain and enhance the economic welfare of its residents; and
WHEREAS, a certain regional road improvement program relative
subject area is presently being considered, and/er implemented by the
Florida State Road Department, and Palm Beach County, towit, the widening
and re-surfacing of U. S. Highway #1 from the City of Boyaton Beach to
the south ltm~ts of the Town of Lantana; and
WHEREAS, it is felt by the residents of subject area that any
unnecessary delay at this time will result in the loss of funds which are
presently appropriated for the accomplishment of the above purposes
thereby postponing said program for an indefinite period; and
WHEHEAS, it is deemed essential that all efforts ~e exerted by
the residents of the affected area to bring to the attention of the
governmental officers involved, the keen interest and desire that the
above cited program be implemented amd completed as expeditiously as
possible;
NOW, IHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
~hat it is the intent and desire of the people of the CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, that the road improvement program referred to
hereinabove be accomplished as expeditiously as possible without delay,
amd that all elected and appointed governmental officers commected with
said program are respectfully requested a~d urged to exert every effort
toward the acco~plislment of sa~e.
