02-06-61D RESOLUTION
TO THE HONORABLE COUNTY COMMISSION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, all residents, taxpayers and registered voters of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH. FLORIDA, and the immediate surrounding area.
are vitally interested in the continuing improvement of the network of highways
and roads serving said area; and
WHEREAS. such interest is based upon the necessity of attracting
large numbers of tourists and other forms of vehicular traffic to subject area
to maintain and enhance the economic welfare of its inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, a certain regional road improvement program within
subject area has for many years been discussed and right of way obtained pre-
paratory to initiating construction of same, to wit. State Road 9, however,
subject construction has never been initiated; and
WHEREAS, it is felt by the residents of subject area that the con-
struction of said State Road 9 is essential to relieve the congested status of the
principal North-South arterial highways serving this area; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed essential that all efforts be exerted by the
residents of the affected area to bring to the attention of the governmental
officers involved, the keen interest and desire that the above cited program
be implemented and completed as expeditiously as possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
That it is the intent and desire of the people of the CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, that the road improvement program referred
to hereinabove be initiated and completed as expeditiously as possible without
further delay, and that all elected and appointed governmental officers connecte
with said program are respectfully requested and urged to exert every effort
toward the accomplishment of the above purposes.
