WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board of the CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, has heretofore designated the various classified
positions within the existing Municipal Civil Service Merit System; and
WHEREAS, said posilions have heretofore been filled by appoint-
ment by the various municipal department heads; and
WHEREAS, in order to clarify the status of municipal employees
presently holding appointment to such classified positions;
NOW, THEREFORE, be ii Resolved by the City Council of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Thai all employees of the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDAi,
presently holding appointments to classified positions within the Civil Service
Merit System of the city, as heretofore established by the Municipal Civil
Service Board, and who have held such appointments for a continuous period
of six months immediately prior to the date of this resolution, are hereby
deemed to be members of the Civil Service Merit System of the CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, and entitled to all rights and privileges
connected therewith. Any employee of the city presently holding appointment
to a classified position within the Municipal Civil Service Merit System, in a
probalionary status, by virtue of not having completed six monlhs service,
shall be considered a member of the Municipal Civil Service Merit System
upon completion of such six month period. All other officers and emplo
of the city not specifically described hereinabove shall be deemed
of the Municipal Civil Service Merit System of the city.
