AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
REPEALING IN ITS ENTIRETY ORDINANCE NO.
84-54; REPEALING THE FOLLOWING SECTION
OF CHAPTER 5. BUILDINGS, HOUSING AND
CONSTRUCTION REGULATIONS. ARTICLE I. IN
GENERAL, SECTION 5-4. PERMIT FEES, IN
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH,FLORIDA; SETTING FORTH A NEW
UNIFIED PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE APPLICABLE
TO BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, GAS,
MECHANICAL, SITE WORK, IMPROVEMENT AND
OTHER MISCELLEANEOUS PERMITS TO BE SET
FORTH AS A NEW SECTION 5-4. PERMIT FEES;
PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE; PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING
AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; AND PROVIDNG FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 166.201, Florida Statutes

WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach fee schedule now in
effect under Ordinance 84-54 does not cover costs to
administer the department's service to the users, it is now
necessary to repeal Ordinance #84-54 in its entirety, and to
replace it with a new ordinance to properly designate the
appropriate sections of the existing City Code to be
repealed and/or amended to set forth the appropriate permit
fees.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 84-54 which was duly
adopted by the City Commission on December 18, 1984, is
ihereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 2. That Chapter 5. Buildings, Housing and
Construction Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by repealing
Article 1. In General, Section 5-4. Permit fees.
Section 3. There is hereby established a new
Section 5-4. Permit Fees. of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, which shall set forth a uniform
comprehensive permit fee schedule for building, electrical,
plumbing, gas, mechanical and miscellaneous permits. Said
Section shall read as follows:
Section 5-4. Permit fees.
Prescribed fees. A permit shall not be issued until
the fees prescribed in this section have been paid. An
amendment to a permit shall not be issued until the
additional fee, if any, due to an increase in the est{mated
cost of the building, structure or site development, has
been paid.
Site improvement permits.

B. Perm/t fees for the above will be:
1. Minimum fee

Total valuation
$3,000 or less
Improvements over $3,000 of value equals $30
plus $15 for each additional $1,000 of value
over $3,000 or portion thereof. Value to be
determined by an item/zed estimate provided
by an architect/engineer, or signed contract.
Any elements bonded through other city
departments may be deducted. Submittal fees
to be collected at time of site development
submittal to the Building Department, with
the balance payable at permit issuance.
Permits for new buildings and additions.
A. Permit fees include:

4. Mechanical
5. Roofing
Single permit fee for the above will be:
1. Minimum fee
$35
Total valuation
$3,000 or less
Construction over $3,000 of value equals $35
plus $15 for each additional $1,000 of vale=
over $3,000 or portion thereof.
Other permits.
A. Single miscellaneous building permit fee:
Permits to include:
a. Demolition
b. Condemned by City - no fee
c. Underground fuel tanks

f. Moving buildings
g. Driveways & sidewalks
h. Paving or resurfacing

plus $10 for each additional $1,000 of val--
over $3,000 or portion thereof. (Permit
value to be based on the value of the signed
contract furnished to the Building
Department).
B. Permit fee for sub-trades:

Electric
Plumbing
Mechanical
Gas
Lawn sprinkler systems
Fire sprinkler systems
Repair of above
Replacement of above
Minimum fee

Total valuation
$3,000 or less
Construction over $3,000 of value equals $35
plus $25 for each additional $1,000 of value
over $3,000 or portion thereof. (Permit
value to be based on the value of the signed
contract furnished to the Building
Department).
Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Should any sectiOn or provision of this
ordinance or portion hereof, any paragraph, sentence, or
!word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of
this ordinance.
Section 6. Authority is hereby granted to codify said
Ordinance.
Section 7. This ordinance shall become
immediately upon passage.
