A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, LOCAL
LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $122,345 AND TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF
$12,236, TO PROVIDE A 10% MATCHING FUND;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AWARD; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Police Department applied for and
3as been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice; and
WHEREAS, said grant is in the amount of $122,345.00, with a local match
3f 10%, which match totals $12,236.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
rilE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby
authorizes and directs the Mayor and City Clerk to accept and execute the Grant,
Irom the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $122,345 and to appropriate
Ihe sum of $12,236.00 to serve as the City's Local Match, which funds will provide
Ior three (3) Community Service Officers and one (1) Crime Analyst for a one year
)eriod. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
)assage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7 day of September, 1999.
