CALLi TO ORDER
Mayoir Weiner called the meeting to order at 3:05 P. M. The purpose of this spe-
cial! meeting is to consider approval of emergency pay for those employees called
backi to duty because of Hurricane Andrew.
Williiam Sullivan, Personnel Director, made the following recommendations to the
City Manager, who, in turn, made them to the Commission:
1. iDo not pay Department Heads other than their normal pay;
2. iPay all exempt and non-exempt employees that came to work on either day at
itime and a half or the call back rate, whichever is greater;
3. iPay all employees who were supposed to work and were asked to stay home
itheir regular day's paY;
iEmployees that were on scheduled vacation or sick leave will not receive
!emergency day pay, but will be charged their sick or vacation hours for the
iday; and
iThe employees called to perform military duty in Dade or Broward Counties
iand have orders to show hurricane duty assignments will have their military
ipay supplemented by the City so there is no loss of pay while assigned to
ithe disaster area.

Commissioner Walshak moved to accept the recommendations made by the City
Manager. Commissioner Harmening seconded the motion which carried 4-0.
