Minutes 03-12-92MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING HELD IN COMMISSION CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ON THURSDAY, MARCH 12, 1992, AT 6:30 P. PRESENT Edward Harmening, Vice Mayor Jose Aguila, Commissioner Lillian Artis, Commissioner Lynne Matson, Commissioner J. Scott Miller, City Manager Sue Kruse, City Clerk Yamile M. Trehy, Assistant City Attorney CALL TO ORDER Vice Mayor Harmening called the meeting to order at 6:30 P. M. in accordance with Section 56 of the Charter. The purpose of the meeting is to canvass and accept the returns of the general elec- tion of Tuesday, March 10, 1992. PROCLAMATION Vice Mayor Harmening read a proclamation in its entirety declaring a run-off election will be held in the City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, on the 24th day of March, 1992, to elect one City Commissioner from District II to serve a two year term. RECEIPT OF GENERAL ELECTION RETURNS Vice Mayor Harmening read the following General Election results which have been certified by Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Joyce Fox: District II Commissioner Lillian B. Artis Oris W. Walker Robert J. Walshak - 3,794 votes - 1,063 votes - 4,212 votes District IV Commissioner David Scott Floering - 2,602 votes Lynne Matson - 6,146 votes Referendum - Take Office Yes - 7,603 No - 1,535 1 MINUTES - SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA MARCH 12, 1992 Referendum - One Year Residency Yes for approval - 8,258 No against approval - 1,044 Commissioner Artis moved acceptance of the canvass of the vote. Commissioner Matson seconded the motion which carried 4-0. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting properly adjourned at 6:37 P. M.
