A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RESCINDiNG
RESOLUTION NO. 02-100, THEREBY RESCINDiNG
THE AWARD OF BID (NO. 056-25413-01/CJD) TO
MASON CONSTRUCTION OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, iN THE AMOUNT OF $24,682.50 FOR THE
EXPANSION OF THE SENIOR CENTER; AND
PROVIDiNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 2, 2002, by Resolution No. 02-100, the City Commission
awarded the bid for "Senior Center Exercise Room" to Mason Construction in the amount
of $24,682.50, which amount was to be funded by a Forrest Lattner Fotmdation Grant;
and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the bid award, the City received notification that an
additional grant amount of $50,000 was available for further expansion of the Senior
Center, which information was relayed to Mason Construction. The project was put on
hold, and no Notice to Proceed was issued; and
WHEREAS, the plans for the expansion of the senior center now include a new
computer lab and additional office space as well as the exercise room originally planned,
staff recommends that this Bid be rescinded and a new comprehensive bid for the
expansion to the Senior Center, based on the total $98,900 funding from the Forrest
Lattner Foundation move forward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:

Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
~being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
i hereof.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby
rescinds Resolution No. R02-100, thereby rescinding the award of bid to Mason Construction
in the amount of $24,682.50 for the Senior Center.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
