Charging Jailer/Police ChiefA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND CHARGING THE JAILER, CHIEF OF POLICE, OR POLICE OFFICER IN CHARGE, TO RECEIVE FROM AND HOLD FOR, TO?~N OF LANTANA, PERSONS IN CUSTODY OF THE LATTER; PROVIDING FOR COM- PENSATION THEREFOR WHEREAS a written request has been received from the Mayor of the Tow~ of Lantana in which it is represented that said tow~ has at this time no Jail or facilities for safe keeping of persons under arrest or sentence in said tow~%; and asking that leave be given by the Tow~% of Bo2u%ton to receive and care for such persons, at the instance of and for said Town of Lsa'~tana; and WHEREAS said Town of Lantana has offered to compensate the Tow~ of Boy~'~ton for such services; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tow~'~ Council of the Tow~'~ of Boynt on, that Section 1. The tow~% Jailer, Chief of Police, or police officer in charge at any time, receive from the Mayo?, or any police officer of the Town of Lantana, any person or persons who may be in custody of said Tow~ of Lantana, under arrest or under sentence, provided such officer from the Tow~% of Lantana present to such officer of the Tow~ of Boynton, a warrant of arrest, or a commitment signed by the Mayor or the Tow~ Clerk of the Town of Lantana. Section 2. Such person so received shall be held solely for the said Town of Lantana, and solely at the risk ~.~? of said Tow~ of Lant~a; and such person shall be released to such officer or officers of said Tow~ of Lantana, or discharged, upon the order ~ writing of any of such officers; and said Town of Boynton shall assume no responsibility for improperly releasing or discharging shy such person. Section 3. The Tow~ of Lm~tana shall pay to the Tow~ of Boynton O~e Dollar for each day or fraction thereof, for each person it receives from the Tow~ of Lantana under this arrangement. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect as soon as the Tow~ Council of the To~x of Lantana shall accept by its resolution, the conditions imposed by this resolution. Section 5. This agreement shall be in effect for a term of two years from the date the same becomes effective; and unless cancelled by notice in w~ting at the end of said torm of two years, the agreement shall be extended automati- cally for m~ additional, term of two years from such date.
