A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND CONFIRMING THE
ARRANGEMENT WTTH THE TOI~N OF BOYNTON FOR
ITS ACCEPTANCE AND SAFE KEEPING OF PERSONS
IN CUSTODY OF THE TOWN OF LANTANA; AND
AUTHORIZING COMPENSATION THEREFOR
WHEREAS request has been made by the Town of Lantana
to the Town of Boynton to receive and hold for it persons
under arrest or sentence, because of the lack of Jail
facilities in the Town of Lantana;
WHEREAS t~e Town Council of the Town of Boynton has
passed its resolution authorizing and directing its
Jailer, Chief of Police, or police officer in charge, to
receive from the Mayor or any police officer of the Town
of Lantana any person or persons who may be in custody of
said Tow~ of Lantana, under arrest or under sentence,
provided such officer for the Town of Lantana presents to
s~ch officer of the Town of Boynton, a warrant of arrest,
or a commitment signed by the Mayor or the Town Clerk of
the Town of Lantana, such person to be held solely for
and at the risk of the said Town of Lantana, such person
to be released or discharged upon the order in writing of
any of such officers, the said Town of Boynton to assume
no responsibility for improperly releasing or discharging
any such person~ now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVEDbby the Town Council of the Town of
Lantana, that
Seetie~!l That the Town of Lantana approve, and accept
sa~d arrangement with said Town of Boynton; and
Section 2 That the Mayor and ~reasurer of the Town
of Lantana be and are hereby authorized to pay to the Town
of Boynton One Dollar for each day or fraction thereof,
for each person it receives from t~ Town of Lantana
under this arrangement
Section 3 That a copy of this resolution be delivered
to the Mayor of the Town of Boynton
