R03-143 II RESOLUTION NO~3- / i3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN ANNUAL PERMITS, DAILY FEES, AND LIGHT FEES AT THE TENNIS CENTER COMMENCING IN FISCAL YEAR 2002/03; AND AMENDING THE RECREATION & PARK DEPARTMENT REVENUE POLICY MANUAL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE. WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Recreation & Parks Department to closely examine the delivery of its services, and restructure certain programs to become se1f- supporting; and WHEREAS, staff has conducted a comparable analysis of neighboring communities and has recommended an increase in annual permits, daily fees, and light fees, commencing in fiscal year 2003/04, which increase will generate additional monies to cover a greater percentage of operational costs and significantly reduce the City's subsidy of this operation; and WHEREAS, upon recommendation of staff, the City Commission has deemed it appropriate to approving raising fees for annual permits, daily fees, and light fees at the Tennis Center, and amend the Recreation & Park Department Revenue Policy Manual to reflect the increases. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. Each Whereas clause set forth above is hereby ratified as being true and correct and incorporated herein by this reference; Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, authorizing an increase in annual permits, daily fees, and light fees at the Tennis Center S:\CA\RESO\03-04 tennis fees.doc f' commencing with fiscal year 2003/04, and amend the Recreation & Park Department Revenue Policy Manual as shown on the attached Exhibit "A". Section 3. Creating and establishing a trust account into which the additional revenue can be diverted and used for capital improvement projects at the facility. Section 4. Amend the Recreation & Park Department Revenue Policy Manual to reflect the increased fee. Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
