R 03- Iq q A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A REVISION OF THE FIRE RESCUE ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE TRANSPORT FEES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, due to changes in Medicare reimbursement for ambulance services, has recommended revisions to the City's Advanced Life Support (ALS) transport fees to ensure that the City receives the maximum reimbursements allowed by Medicare; WHEREAS, upon recommendation of staff the City Commission of the City of Beach, Florida, hereby does revise the Fire Rescue Advanced Life Support Transfer Fees, to incorporate this new reimbursement fee structure; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach does hereby .' and approve the revised Fire Rescue Advanced Life Support ambulance fees, as attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. These changes will insure the city receives the maximum reimbursements allowed by Medicare. The proposed fees are consistent with transport fees established by other local and state fire rescue services. I am requesting the following fee modifications be included in a resolution submitted to the City Commission for their approval: *Basic Life Support: Advanced Life Support Level 1: Advanced Life Support Level 2: **Special Care Transports Mileage: New Previous $325.00 $260.00 $400.00 $305.00 $500.00 $445.00 $600.00 $525.00 $8.00/mile $5.50/mile *Basic Life Support is not currently a part of our transport services, however, there are occasions where we transport BLS patients. **Special care transports involve interfacility transports (nursing home, etc). Like BLS fees, they are currently not part of our transport service, however, there are occasions where we are requested to transport critically ill patients between medical facilities.
