ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE VUI. EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD, SECTION 2-130, "MEETINGS"; AND AMENDING SECTION 2-131 "QUALIFICATIONS"; AND PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interest of the electors and residents of the City of Boynton Beach to amend the provisions of the Code of Ordinances to provide that four members shall constitute a quorum on the Education Advisory Board, and WHEREAS, the Commission has also deemed it appropriate to also amend the provisions of the Code of Ordinances, to reflect that one regular member and any alternate members of the Education Advisory Board may be non-residents of the City, provided that the member has at least one child in a public school located within the geographical boundaries of the City; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. That Chapter 2. Administration, Article VHI Education Advisory Board, Section 2-130 is hereby amended by adding the words and figures in underlined type and deleting the figures in struck-through type as follows: Sec. 2-130. Meetings. The Board shall meet regularly once a month, or more frequently if necessary, for the transaction of business. Its meetings shall be open to the public. The Board may establish its own rules and procedures for the conduct of its business-F4ve-f~ Four (4) members shall constitute a quorum. Sec. 2-131. Qualification. Section 2. That Chapter 2. Qualifications. The members of the e_Education a~_dvisory bBoard shall be residents of the eCity:, provided that one (1) regular member and any Aalternate members of the bl3oard may be non-residents of the eCity: provided the member has at least one child in a public school, which is located within the geographical boundaries of the eCity. Section 2. repealed. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby Section 3. Should any section or provision of this ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance.
