R98-//¢- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AUTOMATED TRUCK OPERATOR, WHICH POSITION IS CURRENTLY FUNDED IN THE 1996/97 BUDGET; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon recommendation of staff, hereby approves a job description for Automated Truck Operator which position is currently funded in the 1996/97 budget; and. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does hereby approve a job description for. Automated Truck Operator, which positions is currently funded in the 1996/97 budget, and which description is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. passage. CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA ATTEST:  issioner t,=~¢~-4¢-4~~ Commissioner S:~~men~Job'~Br~;~Atomated Truck Operator AUTOMATED REFUSE TRUCK OPERATOR SANITATION NATURE OF WORK This is skilled work in the operation of a fully automated, side loading, residential garbage truck. Employees in this class are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy related equipment used in sanitation and similar activities. Work is normally performed on one specific piece of equipment, however, employees are required at times to operate other equipment of perform semi-skilled tasks. Work includes the servicing and operator maintenance of equipment. Assignment may be given by Sanitation supervision in detail for each job, or work may follow established patterns. Stands responsible for timely completion of daily assignments or routes. ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS (Note: These examples are intended only as illustrations of the types of work performed in this classification. The omission if specific statements of duties does not exclude them form the position if the work is similar, related, or logical assignment for this position.) · Operates a diesel powered automated side loader on a predesigned route. · Checks equipment and truck for good working order on a daily basis. · Conducts assigned preventative maintenance task on equipment. · Delivers loaded truck to designated areas · Washes, refuels and cleans truck and equipment at the end of each workday. · Assists with training of other operators when required. · Operated all types of sanitation vehicles/equipment as required. · Performs incidental non-skilled and semi-skilled labor, if assigned. · Performs related work as required. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Considerable knowledge of city codes concerning garbage and trash collection. Considerable .knowledge of standard practices used in routing of residential sanitation vehicles. Must know route of normal operator maintenance procedures involving heavy sanitation vehicles. Considerable knowledge of the principles and techniques of operation and maintenance of heavy sanitation equipment. Considerable knowledge of the rules of Safe operation of heavy equipment and of the precautions to be taken to avoid accidents. Ability to follow route procedures utilized by sanitation personnel in the collection of refuse. Ability to make minor repair and adjustments and to service heavy equipment. Ability to establish an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the general public. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Experience in the operation of sanitation equipment and a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current valid Class "A" commercial driver's license issued by the State of Florida. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Degree of Physical Demands (Strengths) usually associated with this classification: Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This position may require standing, sitting, and/or walking on a variety of surfaces to a significant degree. Type of Physical Demands usually associated with this classification: Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching: (Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist). (Kneeling - Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees). (Crouching - Bending body downwards and forward by bending legs and spine). Reaching, Handling, Fingering, Feeling: (Reaching - Extending the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction). (Handling - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands, fingering not involved). (Fingering - Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily, rather than with the whole hand as in handling). (Feeling - Perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by means of receptors in skin, particularly those of fingertips). Climbing, Balancing, Driving: (Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms). (Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, or running in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving 2 ADDENDUM NO, 1 TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND ROBERT G. CURRIE & ASSOCIATES, INC. THIS ADDENDUM, dated the daly of , 1998, is entered into between the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, hereinafter referred to as" City", and ROBERT J. CURRIE & ASSOCIATES, INC., hereinafter referred to as "Consultant", in consideration of the mutual benefits, terms, and conditions hereinafter specified, and shall constitute part of the Agreement for Architectural and Engineering Services between the City and Consultant, dated June 27, 1995. WHEREAS, due to the need for additional time and services for bidding and construction administration, the performance of additional services for the pre- qualification of contractors, and additional changes to ordinances, laws, regulations or codes, the Engineering and Architectural Services Agreement between the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH and the ROBERT G. CURRIE & ASSOCIATES, INC. requires revision as set forth below. THEREFORE, BOTH PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Paragraph 2 of the Agreement for Architectural and Engineering Services (hereinafter the Agreement) between the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH and ROBERT G. CURRIE & ASSOCIATES, INC., shall be amended by adding the words and phrases in underlined type as follows: 2. SCOPE OF SERVICES. Consultant agrees to perform the services, identified on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, including the provision of all labor, materials equipment and supplies and completion of project through bidding and construction administration as a one-phase project. Section 2. That Paragraph 3 of the Agreement shall be amended by adding the words and phrases in underlined type and ideleting the words and phrases in struck- through type as follows: 3. TIME FOR PERFORMANCE. Work under this contract shall commence upon the giving of written notice by the City to the consultant to proceed.
