AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE 87-15, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH;
BY CREATING A COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
IMPROVEMENT; BY CREATING A COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT

EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bo!rnton
Beach, by Resolution, previously created a Community
Redevelopment Agency as a public body as provided in Florida
Statute, Chapter 163, Part III, Section 163o356; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
'Beach by the adoption of Resolution No. 82-KK, as amended by
Resolution No. 84-II, declared an area of the City to be the
Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach found it necessary to designate new areas as part of
the Community Development Project by adoption of Resoluticn
87-QQQ; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach now wishes to establish two Community Redevelopment
Agencies by splitting responsibilities in the redevelopment
area in recognition of unique problems associated with the
two blighted areas;
NOW, T~RREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. That Ordinance 87-15, Sections 3 and 4
is hereby amended to reflect that the City CommisSion of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby appointed and
declared to be the Board of Commissioners and the governing
body of the Community Redevelopment Agency for Housing and
Community Improvement which shall exercise its jurisdiction
in the area described in Exhibit "A", which is attached to
this Ordinance and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The following members are appointed to
the Board of Commissioners of the Community Redevelopment
Agency for the Central Business District, which shall
exercise-its jurisdiction in the area described in Exhibit
"B", which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated
herein, as follows:
Norman R. Gregory
Richard. C. Gram.
Calvin L. Cearley
Samuel Scheiner
Charles Stanley Weaver
For a Period of 1 Year
For a Period of 2 Years
For a Period of 3 Years
For a Period of 4 Years
For a Period of~ 4 Years
Ail of the above terms will be effective as of the date of
the last appointment. All appointments after the first, as
identified above, will be for a period of four (4) years.
Section 3. Richard C. Gram is
hereby designated as Chairman for a period of one (1) year
and Calvin L~ Cearle¥ , is hereby designated as
Vice Chairman for a period of one (1) year.
Section 4. All administrative staff and any other
staff.support for the Community Redevelopment Agencies shall
exclusively be provided by the Cit¥'~S Department of
Community Improvement under the direction and supervision of
the City Manager.
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 6. Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or any portion thereof, any paragraph, sentence or
word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remainder hereof as a whole or part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
Section 7.
This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage at second reading.
