3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
4 CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE
5 PALM BEACH COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL
6 SERVICE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,550.00,
7 PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF 3 AUTOMATIC
8 EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS, AND FUNDING OF THE
9 CONTINUATION OF THE COMMUNITY EMERGENCY
10 RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING
11 AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF THIS GRANT;
12 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

15 WHEREAS, the Legislature has provided for a program that makes funds available to
16 local emergency medical services programs; and
17 WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County Emergency Medical Services Division has made
18 these grant funds available for the purchase of three (3) Automatic External Defibrillators
19 (AED), and the funding to continue the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
20 program; and
21 WHEREAS, the City Commission upon recommendation of staff, recognizes that these
22 funds can and will be used to purchase three (3) Automatic External Defibrillators and for
23 funding to continue the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
25 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:

27 Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct and hereby
28 ratified and confirmed by the City Commission.
29 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby authorizes
30 and directs the City Manager to accept and execute the Grant, from the Palm Beach County
31 Emergency Medical Services in the amount of $11 ,550.00.

1 Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
