WHEREAS, a state of local civil emergency has been declared following the impact of Hurricane Wilma; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare to temporarily increase the City Manager's purchasing authority hurricane relief expenditures. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Each Whereas clause set forth above is true and correct and incorporated herein by this reference Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make purchases necessary for hurricane relief efforts up to $100,000.00 without the approval of the City Commission. Section 3. The City Manager's purchasing authority, as amended by this Resolution, is for a period commencing October 24, 2005 and ending November 22, 2005, unless further extended by the City Commission.
