A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH AND THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF STATE, DIVISION OF LIBRARY AND
INFORMATION SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,900
FOR THE BOYNTON BEACH CULTURAL CENTER
ARCHIVAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, upon
recommendation of staff, deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens of the
City of Boynton Beach to accept a lump sum grant from the Florida Department of
State, Division of Library and Information Services in the amount of $4,900.00; and
WHEREAS, federal funds have been provided to the Florida Department of
State, Division of Library and Information Services through the National Historical
Publications and Records Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of State, Division of Library and
Information Services, has approved the Boynton Beach Cultural Center Archival
Development Project through the State Historical Records Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to utilize this grant money to assist in the
development of archival collection criteria and policies for the Boynton beach
Cultural Center Development Project; and
WHEREAS, well-developed and planned archival collection policies are
essential to the goals of the City in planning an archive collection to be located at
the Cultural Center.

Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach her

~rects the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement between
the City of Boynton Beach and the Florida Department of State, Division of Library
and Information Services, accepting a grant in the amount of $4,900.00 for the
Boynton Beach Cultural Center Archival Development Project. A copy of the
agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 2. This Resolution shall become eff'ective immediately upon
passage.
