A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
,~ND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE ABANNER
ATTACHMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH (CITY) AND FLORIDA
POWER & LIGHT COMPANY (FPL) PERMITTING
ATTACHMENT OF DECORATIVE BANNERS TO
CERTAIN FPL-OWNED UTILITY POLES; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as part of the Visions 20/20 "Quick Victory" sessions,
the city wishes to attach decorative, non-commercial banners to
certain FPL owned utility poles located on the north and south sides of
Boynton Beach Boulevard from 1-95 to Federal Highway, on the north
and south sides of Ocean Avenue from Seacrest Boulevard to the
Ocean Avenue Bridge; and on the east and west sides of Federal
Highway from the Boynton Canal (C-16) to Woolbdght Road; and
WHEREAS, the City must obtain permission from FPL to install
decorative banners upon FPL owned utility poles; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach,
based upon staff presentations and discussion, finds it necessary to
improve the aesthetics of the sub]ect areas in the interest of
revitalization, economic development, and community by preparing
for the installation of decorative banners in the subject areas; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto mutually recognize the need for
entering into an Agreement designating and setting forth the
responsibilities of each party.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida does hereby authorize and direct the Mayor and City Clerk to
execute a Banner Attachment Agreement between the City of
Boynton Beach and Florida Power & Light (FPL) permitting the City of
Boynton Beach to install decorative banners upon certain utility poles
owned and maintained by FPL. A copy of the Agreement is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2_.
