R07-112 II 1 RESOLUTION R07 - I f fA 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF 4 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 5 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE 6 IMPLEMENTATION OF "YEAR 3" OF THE 7 CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION STUDY 8 CONDUCTED BY MGT OF AMERICA FOR 9 FISCAL YEAR 2007/2008 FOR GENERAL 10 EMPLOYEES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE 11 DATE. 12 13 14 WHEREAS, on January 17, 2006, the City Commission approved the 15 Classification and Compensation Study conducted by MGT of America; 16 WHEREAS, the "Year 3" recommended increases of the study will bring the 17 City's compensation plan to market average; 18 WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2007/2008 budget to 19 accommodate the 8.5% increase to the minimum and maximum of the pay ranges and 20 the 5% market adjustment for the general employees as part of the overall "Year 3" 21 recommendation. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION 23 OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 24 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and 25 confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this 26 Resolution upon adoption. 27 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does 28 hereby approve and authorize the implementation of "Year 3" of the Classification and 29 Compensation Study as presented by MGT of America, a copy of the recommended MGT OF AMERICA CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH IMPLEMENTATION PIAN INCREASES BY YEAR STEP 1 Provide 5% increase to employees who were upgraded as a result of classification or market changes ""'II ,. ""'II .. STEP 2 Increase general pay plan by 8.47% (5.47% for market adjustment & 3% for COLA) & Police and Fire pay plans by 3% ""'II .. ""'II ..
