O86-31AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, A~NDNG THE UNIFORM, MINIMUM COUNTY WIDE ADDENDUMS TO THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, 1982 EDITION, AS ADOPTED BY SECTION 5-3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA TO AMEND CHAPTER IX SPRINKLERS AND STAND PIPES, SECTION 901.2-REQUIRE}~NTS TO EXEMPT DETACHED, SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS FROM THE REQUIREMENT THAT ALL BUILDINGS OF TYPE 6 CONSTRUCTION TWO STOR%ES OR MORE IN HEIGHT BE AUTOMATICALLY SPRINKLED; PROVIDING THAT EACH AND EVERY OTHER PROVISION OF THE UNIFORM, MIMINUM COUNTY WIDE ADDENDUMS TO THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE, 1982 EDITION'REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS PREVIOUSLY ENACTED; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND AND EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO~{CIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1: The Uniform, Minimum County Wide Addendums to the Standard Building Code, 1982 Edition, as adopted by Section 5-3.-Building Code adopted, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton Beach, Florida is hereby amended as follows: Chapter IX SPRINKLERS AND STAND PIPES, Section 901.2 - Requirements. is amended to read as follows: 901.2 - REQUIREMENTS. (a) Every automatic sprinkler system required by this Code shall conform with the requirement~ of the standards for the installation of Sprinkler Syste NFPA 13, except that a single water supply of adequate pressure, capacity and reliability, equal to the primary supply required by those standards, ma be permitted by the Building Official. (b) Notwithstanding other provisions of this Chapter, all buildings of Type 6 construction two (2) stories or more in height shall be automatically sprinkled in accordance with the requir ments of the standards for the tion of Sprinkler Systems NFPA 13. This subsection shall not apply to defached, single family dwelling units. Section 2: Each and every other provision of the Uniform Minimun County Wide Addendums to the Standard Building Code, 1982 Edition, as adopted by Section 5-3. Building Code adopted, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton Beach, Florida shall remain in full force and effect as previously enacted. Section 3: Ail other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4: Should any section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a court of jurisdiction, to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
