AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER
24 TAXI CABS, SECTION 24-20. RATES OF FARE
ESTABLISHED. TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM PER-
MISSIBLE FARE THAT MAY BE CHARGED FOR THE
USE OF A TAXI CAB; PROVIDING THAT EACH AND
EVERY OTHER PROVISION OF CHAPTER 24 TAXI CABS
SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS
PREVIOUSLY ENACTED; PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO
CODIFY; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1: Chapter 24 Taxi Cabs, Section 24-20. Rates of
Fare Established. of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton Beach
Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 24-20. Rates of Fare Established.
No owner or driver of a taxi cab shall
charge a greater sum for the use of a
taxi cab than 8~e-B~½~a~-~½~88~ One
and 25/100 Dollar ($1.25) for the first
e~e-~8~%h-~½~4~ one-fifth (1/5) mile or
fraction thereof, and %e~-ee~%~-~8~8~
twenty-five cents ($0.25) for each
additional ~e-~e~e~%h-~ one-fifth
1/5 mile or fraction thereof; and the
charge for waiting time shall be
ee~-~=½~ twenty-five cents ($0.25)
per m~e every seventy-five seconds
or fraction thereof.
Section 2: Each and every other provision of Chapter 24
Tax Cabs shall remain in full force and effect as previously enac~
Section 3. Specific authority is hereby given to codify
this Ordinance.
Section 4: Ail other ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or any portion hereof be declared by a court of competent
jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the
remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective immediate]
upon passage.
