A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING
THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
AND THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF
FIREMEN & OILERS FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER
1, 1997 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1999, AND
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE COLLECTIVE
BARGA NING AGREEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach and the International
Brotherhood of Firemen & Oilers have successfully concluded negotiations
for a three year contract; and
WHEREAS, the contract was ratified by Local 1227 Bargaining Unit
of the Union on Monday, May 19, 1997, with a vote of 82 members in
favor and 2 members in opposition; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach deems
it to be in the best interests of the residents and citizens of the City to ratify
the collective bargaining agreement and execute the same; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida does hereby ratify the collective bargaining agreement between
the City of Boynton Beach and the International Brotherhood of Firemen
& Oilers for the period of October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1999,
and authorizes and directS the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the
collective bargaining agreement, a copy of said agreement being
attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. This Resolution wilt become effective immediately upon
passage.
