A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
AND APPROVING THE VISIONS 20/20 ACTION
PROGRAM "QUICK VICTORY PROJECTS"
DEVELOPED BY CITY STAFF AND DIRECTING
THAT FUNDING SHOULD BE SET ASIDE IN THE
1996/1997 BUDGET FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, citizens and residents from the community at large, City staff and
elected officials attended the City of Boynton Beach 20/20 Planning Our Future Assembly
from May 2, 1996, through May 4, 1996, to determine the future course of the City; and
WHEREAS, a Policy Statement was derived from said conference setting forth
the goals, strategies and policies necessary to promote the future of the City of Boynton
Beach; and
WHEREAS, in March, 1997, it was determined that prior to the Master Plan
being presented by the Visions 20/20 Consultant, it is desirable to begin implementing
phase '1 of the Visions Action Plan through short-term projects, and therefore, five groups
composed of city staff were asked to develop "quick-victory" projects or programs to
address the priorities set forth in the Visions 20/20 Policy Statement; and
WHEREAS, each of the five Strategy groups developed programs to address~the
Visions 20/20 priorities, each program requiring funding to implement the Visions Action
Plan "quick victory projects;" and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach deems it to be in
the best interests of the residents of the City to adopt the Program and set aside funding in
the amount of One Hundred Twenty-five Thousand ($125,000.00) Dollars from the
1996/1997 budget for implementation of.the program.
NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY COMMISSION
OF TIlE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACII, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does
hereby adopt Visions 20/20 Action Program of "Quick Victory Projects and sets aside
funding in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-five Thousand ($125,000.00) Dollars from
the 1996/1997 budget for implementation of the program. Copies of each Strategy's plan
are attached hereto and incorporated herein as Composite Exhibit "A".
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
