CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REPEALING
IN ITS ENTIRETY ORDINANCE NO. 84-36 OF
SAID CITY, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 18, 1984 AND
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1984; CORRECTING
CLERICAL ERRORS IN SAID ORDINANCE NO. 84-36;
REPEALING THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 5.
BUILDINGS, HOUSING AND CONSTRUCTION
REGULATIONS: ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL, SECTION
5-4. BUILDING PERMIT FEES, ARTICLE II.
ELECTRICITY, SECTION 5-17. PERMIT FEES,
ARTICLE III. PLUMBING, SECTION 5-29.
PERMIT FEES, ARTICLE IV. GAS, SECTION 5-41.
PERMIT FEES, AND ARTICLE VI. MECHANICAl,
REGULATIONS, SECTION 5-63. PERMIT FEES,
ALL IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA; SETTING FORTH A NEW UNIFIED
PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE APPLICABLE TO BUILDING,
ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, GAS, MECHANICAL AND
OTHER MISCELLAIqEOUS PERMITS TO BE SET FORTH
AS A NEW SECTION 5-4. PERMIT FEES.; PROVIDING
AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS
CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on September 18, 1984, the City Council of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, duly adopted Ordinance No. 84-36,
relative to the schedule of permit fees to be charged by the City
for building, electrical, plumbing, gas, mechanical, and other
miscellaneous permits; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No. 84-36 contained incorrect
designations as to the various sections' of the City Code to be
repealed and/or amended by said Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to repeal Ordinance No.
84-36 in its entirety, and to replace it with a new Ordinance to
properly designate the appropriate sections of the existing
City Code to be repealed and/or amended to set forth the a
permit fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 84-36 which was duly
adopted by the City Council on September 18, 1984, is hereby
repealed in its entirety.
Section 2: That Chapter 5. Buildings, Housing and
Construction Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by repealing the
following subsections:
(a) Article 1. In General, Section 5-4.
Building permit fees.
(b) Article II. Electricity, Section 5-17.
Permit fees.
(c) Article III. Plumbing, Section 5-29.
Permit fees.
(d) Article IV. Gas, Section 5-41.
Permit fees.
(e) Article VI. Mechanical Regulations,
Section 5-63. Permit fees.
Section 3: There is hereby established a new Section
5-4. Permit Fees. of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, which shall set forth a uniform comprehensive
permit fee schedule for building, electrical, plumbing, gas,
mechanical and miscellaneous permits. Said Section shall read
as follows:
Section 5-4. Permit fees.
I. Permits for new buildings and additions.
A. Permit fees include:
1. Building
2. Electric
3. Plumbing
4. Mechanical
Single permit fee for the above

1. Minimum fee
$30.00
Total Valuation
$3,000 or less

Construction over $3,000 of value
equals $30.00 plus $10.00 for each
additional $1,000 of value over
$3,000 or portion thereof.
II. Other Permits.
Single miscellaneous building
permit fee Will be:
1. Minimum fee
$21.00
Total Valuation
$3,000 or less
Construction over $3,000 of value
equals $21.00 plus $7.00 for each
additional $1,000 of value over
$3,000 or portion thereof. (Permit
value to be based on the value of
the signed contract furnished to
the Building Department.}
B. Permit fee for sub-trades:
1. Sub-trades for, but not limited to:
a. Electric
b. Plumbing
c. Mechanical
d. Gas
e. Lawn sprinkler systems
f. Fire sprinkler systems
g. Repair of above
h. Replacement of above
i. Moving building
j. Driveways and sidewalks
k. Structural pest control
1. Demolition
m. Condemned by City - no fee
n. Underground fuel tanks
o. Miscellaneous
Minimum fee
$30.00
Total Valuation
$3,000 or less
Construction over $3,000 of value
equals $30.00 plus $20.00 for each
additional $1,000 of value over
$3,000 or portion thereof. (Permit
value to be based on the value of
the signed contract furnished to
the Building Department.)
Section 2: Specific authority is hereby given to
codify this Ordinance.
Section 3: Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: Should any section or portion of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 5: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
