O84-44AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON~BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
SECTION 55. COMPENSATION OF MAYOR AND
COUNCIL. OF THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY
OF B!OYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO INCREASE THE
SALARY AMOUNT OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS,
INCLUDING THE MAYOR, FROM TWO HUNDRED FIFTY
DOLLARS ($250.00) PER MEMBER PER MONTH TO
THREE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($350.00) PER
MEMBER PER MONTH; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS
CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO
CODI~FY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida, recognizes that the fulfillment of the duties of the
members of the City Council is a time consuming function; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
deems it advisable that the members' salary should be increased
since it is now in the lower scale comparable to other
municipalities' council members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1: That Section 55. Compensation of Mayor and
Council. of the City Charter of the City of Boynton Beach be
amended as follows:
Section 55. Compensation~of Mayor and Council.
Each member of the City Council, including
the member who serves as Mayor, shall receive
a salary not to exceed ~w~-h~e~-~M-~½~
...... ~~ three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00)
per member per month.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: Should any section or provision of this
Ordinance or a portion thereof be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction {o be invalid, such delcision shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage.
Section 5: Specific authority is hereby given to
codify this Ordinance.
