3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
4 BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
5 THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE TASK ORDER
6 NO. U-04-18-3 WITH STANLEY CONSULTANTS INC.,
7 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,718.00 FOR
8 THE SECURITY SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
9 WATER TREATMENT PLANTS; AND PROVIDING AN
10 EFFECTIVE DATE.

14 WHEREAS, the Bioterrorism Response Act of 2001, Title IV, Section 1433
15 required the Utility Department to undertake a vulnerability assessment and to take
16 appropriate actions to ensure the safety of the public water supply; and
17 WHEREAS, Stanley Consultants, Inc., will be preparing a preliminary design
18 concept and a Design-Build RFP to further improve the security systems at the water
19 treatment plants; and
20 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach upon
21 recommendation of staff, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
22 Boynton Beach to authorize execution of Task Order U04-18-3 with Stanley Consultants,
23 Inc., in an amount not to exceed $50,718.00 for the security systems improvements at the
24 Water Treatment Plants.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
26 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
27 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
28 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
29 hereof.

1 I Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does
2 hereby approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Task Order U04-18-3 with
3 Stanley Consultants, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $50,718.00 for the security systems
4 improvements at the Water Treatment Plants.
5 Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
