4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
5 FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
6 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A GRANT MEMORANDUM
7 OF AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA,
8 DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER
9 SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY; AND PROVIDING
10 AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

13 WHEREAS, trees are an important part of our community; and
14 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach desires to apply for a Forest Health
15 Improvement Initiative Grant which would provide monies to improve the condition of the
16 community's tree canopy; and
17 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach wishes to enter into a Forest Health
18 Improvement Initiative Grant Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Boynton
19 Beach, Florida and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
21 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:

23 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
24 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
25 hereof.
2 Section 2. The City Commission supports the improvement of the condition of the
2 City's tree canopy.
2 Section 3. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City manager to enter into a
2 Forest Health Improvement Initiative Grant Memorandum of Agreement between the City of
