I RESOLUTION NO. RIO-044

3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
4 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
5 SUPPORTING THE CHILDREN SERVICES COUNCIL
6 OF PALM BEACH COUNTY.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach supports Children's Services Councils
9 throughout Florida.
10 WHEREAS, Children's Services Councils throughout Florida provide services to
II hundreds of thousands of children; and
12 WHEREAS, Children's Services Councils throughout Florida serve a substantial
13 number of economically disadvantaged children; and
14 WHEREAS, Children's Services Councils throughout Florida provide thousands of
IS jobs to individuals through non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, and other
16 community-based organizations; and
17 WHEREAS, the Children's Services Councils of Palm Beach County, approved by
18 voters in 1986 and again in 2000, provides services to hundreds of thousands of children in
19 our Community.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
21 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:

23 Section I. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
24 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
25 hereof.
26 Section 2. The City of Boynton Beach supports the continued existence of
27 Children's Service Councils and opposes SBI216 and HBI227 and directs, that a copy of
28 this resolution be provided to Senate President Jeff Atwater, Speaker of the House Larry

1 Cretul, all members of the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation and to Governor
2 Charlie Crist.
3 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City of Boynton Beach, this 6th day of April,
4 2010.
