AN ORDINANCE OF-THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 6-CEMETERIES, SECTION 6-4. BOARD
OF GOVERNORS CREATE~; COMPOSITION; TERMS;
QUORUM. TO PROVIDE THAT ALL MEMBERS OF
THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS EXCEPT THE CITY
CLERK SHALL BE RESIDENTS AND ELECTORS OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH; PROVIDING A
CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Chapter 6-Cemeteries, Section 6-4.
Board of Governors Created; Composition; Terms; Quorum. of the
Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 6-4.
Board of Governors Created;
Composition; Terms; Quorum.
There is hereby created and established a
Board of Governors of the municipal
cemetery which will consist of the City
Clerk, four (4) other persons and one (1)
alternate, all of whom except the City
Clerk, shall be residents and electors
of the City. Two (2) appointments and
the alternate shall be appointed to serve
for a term of one (1) year from the date
of appointment. Two (2) appointments
shall be appointed to serve terms of
two (2) years from the date of appoint-
ment, and Tereesa Padgett is hereby
appointed to serve on said Board for
life. Four (4) members of the Board
shall constitute a quorum.
Section 2: Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: Should any section or provisions of this
Ordinance or any portion thereof be declared by a Court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 4: Authority is hereby given to codify
this Ordinance.
Section 5: This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
