AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE X, SECTION 5-141(m) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE THAT ALL FIRE LANES
SHALL BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH STRIPING AND SIGNS READING "FIRE
LANE - NO PARKING;" PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A CON-
FLICT CLAUSE, AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Chapter 5, Article X, Section 5-141(m)
of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is
hereby amended to read as follows:

Fire Lanes. Ail shopping centers,
retail office complexes, and
retail establishments for which
the gross floor area of all
buildings is fifteen thousand
(15,000) square feet or greater
shall have fire lanes along the
front of all buildings which
shall allow efficient access to
the fronts of buildings by fire
protection vehicleS. Fire lanes
shall not be encumbered by parked
vehicles, and shall not be used
for loadi~.g~ or unloading of
commercial vehicles. Additionally,
fire lanes shall be clearly marked
with striping and signs reading
"Fire Lane - No Parking."
Section 2. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be
declared unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding
shall not effect the remainder of this Ordinance.
Section 3. Ail ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Authority is hereby given to codify~this
Ordinance.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its second reading and final passage. ~
