A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF
FEDERAL EXCESS MODULAR TRAILER UNITS
BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND THE
OFFICE OF THE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY FOR THE
SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (USAO); AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the USAO has a surplus of Modular Trailer Units available for law
enforcement usage for "community policing" type functions; and
WHEREAS, the USAO desires to assist and promote state and local law
enforcement agencies' commitment to community policing and programs as part of the
U.S. Attorney's Office Anti-Violence and Community Empowerment Initiative; and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has a need for said modular trailer units
to house and support our community policing and other community policing programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby
authorizes the Mayor and' City Clerk to execute an Agreement between the City of
Boynton Beach, Florida and the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern
District of Florida, the United States Department of Justice (USAO) for the use of
modular trailer units, a copy of said Agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
