R95-047RESOLUTION NO. R95-J/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD BOUNDARY CHANGES FOR CITRUS COVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. WHEREAS, Citrus Cove Elementary School has a design capacity of 685 students; and WHEREAS, the current enrollment of students at Citrus Cove is 1,341 and is creating additional traffic impacts on Lawrence Road that were not planned or provided for; and WHEREAS, the additional school traffic is not allocated for in the County's planning for road improvements; and WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County School Board recently adopted boundary changes that will decrease the school enrollment at Citrus Cove Elementary from 1,341 to 896 students; and WHEREAS, this boundary change, in addition to greatly improving the quality of the educational environment for the children, will also lessen the traffic impact for all of the surrounding residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: $~ The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby support the recently adopted boundary changes for Citrus Cove Elementary, because of the impact on the area children and the area residents and does hereby encourage the School Board not to take any action in the future that would increase the enrollment at this school prior to any traffic improvements occurring. ~ That this Resolution effective immediately upon passage. shall become PASSED AND ADOPTED this ~/ day of March, 1995.
