AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA AMENDING CITY
CHARTER SECTION 140 BY REPEALING SAID SECTION
ENTITLED "SUPPORT FOR ELECTION OF COUNCILMEN
BY PERSONS CONNECTED WITH CITY GOVERNMENT
PROHIBITED"; PROVIDING A REPEAL CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, City Council of the City of Boynton Beach is em-
powered by FlOrida Statute 166.031 to amend the City Charter by
Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Section 140 of the City Charter of the City of
Boynton Beach is in conflict with Florida Statute 104.31, and
superseded by said statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Section 140 of the City Charter of the City of Boynton Beach
"Support for Election of Councilmen by Persons Connected with City
Government Prohibited" is hereby repealed.
Section 2..
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
Section 3.
That any section or provision of this ordinance or any
portion thereof, be declared by Court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this
order.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
second reading an
