A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION TO NEGOTIATE AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH PALM BEACH COUNTY
REGARDING AMENDMENT TO THE UTILITY SERVICE
AREA BOUNDARIES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach,
upon recommendation of staff, deems it in the best interest of the
citizens and residents of the City of Boynton Beach to enter into
an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County to amend the utility
service area of both the County and the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Administration is hereby authorized
and directed to negotiate a Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach
County wherein the utility service area of the County would be
reduced and the utility service area of the CitY would be increased
by that area bounded by Hypoluxo Road on the south, Interstate 95
on the east, the LWDD E-4 canal on the west and Hillside Lane on
the north. Said area following execution of the Interlocal
Agreement will be designated as a City of Boynton Beach service
area for water and waste water.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
