AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 20, PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, AND ITINERANT MER- CHANTS, SECTION 20-19 "PERMIT" BY PROVIDING AN EXEMPTION FOR SOLICITATIONS CONDUCTED SOLELY ON THE PROPERTYOF THE ORGANIZATION SOLICITING; PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGSCLAUSE;~PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Chapter 20, Peddlersl 'Solicitors and Itinerant Merchants, Section 20-19 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 20-19. Permit. No person shall solicit contributions for any charitab purposes within the City without a permit pursuant to this Ordinance authorizing such solicitation; provided, however, that the provisions of this article shall not apply to any established organization operating wholly or partially for religious or chari- table purposes, if the solicitations are conducted only among the members of such organization by other members or officers thereof, voluntarily and without renumeration for making such solicitations or if the solicitations are in the form of collections or contri- butions at the regular assemblies or services of such established organizations. No permit shall be required where a solicitation is conducted solely on a property owned or leased by the organization conducting the solicitation and a sign is posted in a prominent place at each entrance to the area where the solicitation is bein held; stating the name of the organization conducting the solici- tation and the purpose for the solicitation. Section 2. Any ordinance or parts of an ordinance in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. That should any section or provision of this Ordinance, or any portion thereof, be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this Ordinance. Section 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
