A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, STRONGLY
OPPOSING AMENDMENT #2 LIMITATION ON
STATE REVENUE COLLECTIONS, AND
AMENDMENT #4- REVENUE LIMITS; AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FORWARD A
COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE FLORIDA
LEAGUE OF CITIES, INC., THE PALM BEACH
COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, PALM BEACH
COUNTY MUNICIPAL LEAGUE, BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, AND
THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Amendment #2 - Limitation on State Revenue Collections, has been
placed on the ballot by the Legislature and would cap state revenue collections,
Legislature would be able to raise the cap by a two-thirds vote. If passed, although
exemption has been Provided fOr state ~hared revenues, this Amendment will impact

un~cipal programs that rely upon state funding; and
WHEREAS, Amendment #4- Revenue Limits was placed on the ballot by the T~x
Cap Committee in an effort to secure multiple revenue subjects for future Constitutio la, I
amendments and is opposed by this City Commission for the following reasons:
Changes to the Constitution are complex enough without multiple subjects
proposed within the same amendment; and {b) Citizens will lose the opportunity
choose between revenue options, as they will be combined in one proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
CITY O'F BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
~ The City Commission hereby opposes passage of Amendment
Limitation on State Revenue Collections, and Amendment #4 - Revenue Limits.
~ The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resoluti(
to the Florida League of Cities, Inc., Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation, Pal
Beach County Municipal League, Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach,
· the Metropolitan Planning Commission.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
