A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING
THE PALM BEACH COUNTY FEDERAL TRANSIT
ADMINISTRATION (FTA) SECTION 3
GRANT APPLICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County, with its adoption of the gas tax to transit by the
Board of County Commissioners is proceeding with the implementation of a
comprehensive transit improvement program; and
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County has applied for discretionary funds from the
Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for expansion of the public transit system
throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, the Senate FY 95 DOT Appropriations bill contains $8.7 million for
the system expansion;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida hereby
supports this effort by Palm Beach County to implement a comprehensive transit
improvement program, by supporting the FTA Section 3 Grant Application of Palm
Beach County.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
Resolution to Senators Graham and Mack, the Congressional Delegation, the Palm
Beach County Legislative Delegation, Metropolitan Planning Organization of Palm
Beach County, and all municipalities in Palm Beach County.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
