12.01.11 - Assisting with Disabled Private Vehicles CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY MANUAL CHAPTER: 12 Risk Management Policy No. 12.01.11 SECTION: 01 Risk Management Policies Page: 1 of 1 SUBJECT: 11 Assisting with Disabled Private Vehicles PURPOSE: To protect the City from potential liabilities and prevent accidents and injuries. POLICY: City employees are forbidden from lending assistance with private vehicles. City employees are not to perform any work or repairs on any privately owned vehicles while on duty. This includes changing tires, "jump starting" cars, lending battery cables for that purpose, or any other repairs. Employees shall refer requests for assistance to the owner's choice of motor clubs or wrecker services. Employees may offer assistance by calling a local service station, wrecker service or motor club.
