3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
4 APPROVING A 3.5% INCREASE IN COST FROM CHEMICAL LIME
5 COMPANY WHICH WAS AWARDED THE CO-OP BULK
6 QUICKLIME BID #005-2821-09/JA FOR AN ESTIMA TED
7 EXPENDITURE IN THE AMOUNT OF $270,000.00; AUTHORIZING
8 THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE NOVEMBER 18, 2010
9 WRITTEN OFFER FROM CHEMICAL LIME COMPANY AND
10 PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

12 WHEREAS, on December 16, 2008, the City Commission approved the award of the
13 Co-Op Bulk Quicklime id #005-2821-09/JA to Chemical Lime Company with an estimated
14 expenditure of $250,000.00; and
15 WHEREAS, due to increased fuel, transfer, transportation and storage costs, Chemical
16 Lime Company has been forced to increase their bid pricing by 3.5%; and
17 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach upon
18 recommendation of staff, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
19 Boynton Beach to approve the 3.5% cost increase and authorize the City Manager to accept
20 the November 18, 2010 written offer of Chemical Lime Company for a period of one year
21 from December 16,2010 to December 15,2011.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
23 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
24 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
25 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
26 hereof.
27 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does
28 hereby approve the 3.5% cost increase and authorize the City Manager to accept the

1 November 18, 2010 written offer of Chemical Lime Company for a period of one year from
2 December 16, 2010 to December 15, 2011, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
3 hereof as Exhibit "A".
4 Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
