O79-23ORDINANCE NO. 79--~$ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ~YENDING CHAPTER 21 (PENSIONS) OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, BY CREATING SECTION 21-96 TO PROVIDE THAT EXISTING PERMANENT FULL- TI~,~ E~LOYEES OF THE CITY'S FIP~ DEPART- I~ENT BE ALLOWED AN ADDITIONAL YEAR ON THEIR CREDITABLE SERVICE TOTAL FOR EACH YEAR SERVED IN THE CITY'S VOLUNTEER FIRE PROGRAM, UP TO A MBIIMUM OF FIVE YEARS; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. NOW THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: ARTICLE I. That Chapter 21 (Pensions) of the Codified Ordinancesof the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be amended by the creation of Section 21-96 as follows: Section 21-96. Additional Creditable Service for years spent on the volunteer force. Ail existing permanent, full-time, employees of the City's Fire Department shall be allowed additional credit to t~heir creditable service totals for all time served in the City's Volunteer Fire Program, up to a maximum of five (5) years of such additional credit. ARTICLE II. Ail Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. ARTICLE III. Should any section or provision of this Ordinance, or any portion thereof, be declared by a Court of com- petent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this Ordinance.
