A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING
THE COUNTYWIDE REFERENDUM REGARDING
COUNTY PROPERTY-TAX EXEMPTIONS AS AN
ECONOMIC INCENTIVE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has approved a referendum
election for September 8, 1994, regarding the granting of ad valorem (property tax)
exemptions to encourage economic development; and
WHEREAS, broad-based community support and involvement is essential to
properly communicate this program to the citizens of Palm Beach County to ensure a
successful referendum; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida
recognizes and supports this effort by Palm Beach County to provide an incentive for
employment opportunities that will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of all
residents of Palm Beach County and the positiVe expansion of the economy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
~ The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida hereby
supports the Countywide referendum regarding County property-tax exemptions as an
economic incentive.
~ The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
Resolution tO the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation, and all municipalities in
Palm Beach County.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
