A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING
AN ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT AS A RESULT OF
VIOLATIONS OF CRIMINAL LAW; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 943.25(13), Florida Statutes authorizes any municipality
to assess an additional $2.00 "for expenditures for criminal justice education degree
programs and training courses;" and
WHEREAS, all funds collected pursuant to this statutory provision may be used
to offset costs related to criminal justice education degree programs and training
courses, including basic recruit training; and
WHEREAS, the funds collected pursuant to the statutory provision may be used
for workshops, meetings, conferences, and conventions provided that there is a direct
relationship between these events and education degree programs and training
courses for the respective law enforcments' officers and/or support personnel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. An additional $2.00 assessment is hereby established pursuant
to Section 943.25(13), Florida Statutes.
~ This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
