A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
DESIGNATING NANCY BYRNE, INTERIM
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR AS THE ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR CITY -WIDE AND
DESIGNATING VIVIAN BROOKS, EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF THE CRA AS THE ECONOMIC

1 LOCATED WITHIN THE CRA AREA FOR THE PURPOSES
1. OF IMPLEMENTING THE CITY'S ECONOMIC
1 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR BUSINESS
t ! DEVELOPMENT OR EXPANSION, HOUSING, AND
1 COMMUNITY INITIATIVES WITHIN THE CITY OF
1 + BOYNTON BEACH AND CRA AREAS; PROVIDING
1 FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
1 WHEREAS, in October, 2011, the City Commission accepted a draft Economic
21 Development Program to set in motion a series of steps leading to the identification of
2 specific target industries for the City; the establishment of a marketing budget to coincide
2. with the Branding efforts and initiate a staff Economic Development Team to begin
2 implementation of the Economic Development Program; and
2. WHEREAS, Florida Statute 288.075 permits a municipality that does not have a
2 public economic development agency to assign an officer or employee the duty to promote
2. the general business interest or industrial interest of the City; and
2 WHEREAS, it is the City Commissions intent to designate the individuals named
2; herein to maximize the confidentiality of records submitted by private corporations,
2' partnerships or persons related to location, relocation or expansion of business activities
31 within the City and the CRA; and
3 WHEREAS, staff is recommending the designation of Nancy Byrne, Interim

Development Director as the City -wide Economic Development Coordinator and the
designation of Vivian Brooks, Executive Director of the CRA as the Economic
Development Coordinator for the CRA area for the purposes of implementing the City's
Economic Development Program for business development or expansion, housing, and
community initiatives within the City of Boynton Beach and CRA areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
1 i hereof.
1 Section 2. The City Commission of the Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby designates
1 Nancy Byrne, Interim Development Director as the Economic Development Coordinator City -wide and
1 designating Vivian Brooks, Executive Director of the CRA as the Economic Development Coordinator
1 for any property located within the CRA area for the purposes of implementing the City's Economic
1 Development Program for business development or expansion, housing and community
1 , initiatives within the City of Boynton Beach and CRA area
1 Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
